JAPANESE HEAD TURNERS AND A DISPLAY OF MALAYSIA’S VERY BEST TUNED CARS GREETS FANS AT THE 2024 TOKYO AUTO SALON KUALA LUMPUR

The 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon Kuala Lumpur opens its doors today to an even bigger and more exciting show over three days from 8-10 November 2024 at the Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MITEC).

The highlight at Tokyo Auto Salon Kuala Lumpur 2024 includes the arrival of 15 specially-flown in vehicles from Japan.

This includes two prized Nissan GT-Rs from renowned builder Top Secret. The first is Top Secret’s R35 Gold M24 SPL model which is the famed Japanese tuner’s latest build first put on display at this year’s Tokyo Auto Salon in Japan. The car, codenamed M24, is a street-legal missile rated at 815 ps of power (803 hp) and dressed in Top Secret Candy Gold. The second display meanwhile, is the Nissan GT-R R35 Track Edition by Top Secret and what makes this particular model truly exceptional is that it is not just a standard Track Edition but legendary Smokey Nagata’s personal vehicle, expertly tuned by the legendary founder of Top Secret himself.

Also a show stopper is the 2024 R35 GT-R NISMO reimagined to create the HKS R35 NEO GT1000+ CONCEPT which empowers the car with more than 1,000 ps (986 hp). The car was first displayed at this year’s Tokyo Auto Salon Japan in January. Fully customized to "express HKS's vision of carbon neutrality in the highest-end domestic concept car", the HKS R35 NEO GT1000+ CONCEPT is powered by a 4255cc VR38 engine developed to bring together the best of HKS' technology. It is based on the concept of a street version of the HKS R35 GT1000+ used in time attack.

Other cars on display include KUHL RACING’s 2024 Edition wide bodied R35 Nissan GT-R which boasts fender extensions of 30 mm (1.2 inches) of width on each side and stands out further with intricate-looking Verz-Kron E04 wheels. Styling has also been accentuated with a quad exhaust surrounded by a unique diffuser and a Swan neck GT Wing Type II that adds a sporty appeal to the finish.

Equally exciting is ARTISAN SPIRITS’ Black Label LC500GT wide body which totally transforms an elegant Lexus sports car into one off the most aggressive looking cars on display with its widened wheel arches, a front splitter, side sills, a rear wing and diffusor.

Others exhibits are from Veilside, Trust/Greddy, Option, Tomica and San Ei Corporation. In total, more than 300 top tier tuned cars are on displayed at the show, and this year will also see one lucky visitor going home with a tuned Honda Civic FK8R Type R Mugen!

This giveaway is a collaboration between Element X Strategies as the Sole Official Licensee of Tokyo Auto Salon Kuala Lumpur and The House of Type R. This offer is open to all ticket holders, but they must top up an extra RM28 to purchase a sticker in addition to their respective ticket price.

The winning ticket will be drawn on stage at 8.00 pm on the final day of the show on 10 November 2024. Once the car winner’s name is called and if he or she is not present at the venue, the individual will be contacted by telephone. After three attempts go unanswered, the Organizer reserves the right to proceed with another draw. Upon answering, the winner will then be required to answer three simple questions correctly.

In addition to the Honda Civic FK8R Type R Mugen, exhibitor YRN Customs has also announced a giveaway of a modified BMW E36 325i four-door sedan.  The contest is open to all visitors who spend a minimum of RM15 and the winner will also be announced on 10 November at Tokyo Auto Salon Kuala Lumpur.

This year’s Tokyo Auto Salon Kuala Lumpur has grown significantly in floor space and activities that will include among others an auto styling competition to be judged by some of Japan’s top tuners; gathering by car clubs; auto auction; racing simulator challenge; audio competition; pop & bang competition and live performances.

Tokyo Auto Salon Kuala Lumpur official merchandise also offer fans an extremely diverse and exciting range of apparels and accessories that include-neck t-shirts, retro collared t-shirts and round neck t-shirts among others depicting unique graphics of some of the more iconic JDM models such as the R33, R34 and R35 Nissan GT-Rs, Honda Civic FK8 and FL5 Type R, Mitsubishi Evo X, and Toyota AE86 and Supra, etc.

Also available for collectors is the Tokyo Auto Salon Kuala Lumpur 2024 limited and special edition 1/64 die cast Chameleon Nissan GT-R R33 (NISMO 400R).

2024 also sees the appearance of Tokyo Auto Salon Kuala Lumpur 2024 ambassadors who will be joined by brand ambassadors and race queens from Japan. One of the Malaysian brand ambassadors will stand a chance of representing Malaysia at the 2025 Tokyo Auto Salon in Japan.
